The Mallorca Files is Capturing Imaginations

With so much of the world on lockdown, most of us are presently satisfying our wanderlust from the comfort of our sofas.

No surprise then that our very own ‘The Mallorca Files’ is capturing the imaginations of (both) British, American and German audiences.

Set against the sun-drenched backdrop of this island in the Med, viewers are enjoying the odd couple pairing of the buttoned down, British DC Miranda Blake (Elen Rhys) and her altogether more laid back German partner, DX Max Winter (Julian Looman). The partnership brings its unique style to crime solving among the rich and famous whilst an intriguing on-screen chemistry bubbles below the surface.

The series has been avidly viewed since it launched on BBC 1 in November 2019 – with 5 million views on i-Player alone. A further 2 million views have been racked up on the German equivalent, ZDF Mediathek, within the first few weeks after (where) it launched on 12 April. Sun-starved subscribers to Britbox US have flocked to the show. And now all eyes on the launch in France on France 2 at the end of June.

So, if you haven’t caught up with it yet, sit back, pour yourself a long, cool drink and prepare to indulge in a little, sun, sea, society, sleuthing, scamming and the occasional stabbing.
